We are delighted to announce the exciting news that Firefly and Epraise are now part of the same family. By working together, we believe that our shared desire to improve the education experience for students, teachers and parents can be accelerated.
Back in September, the co-founders of Firefly and Epraise started discussing their hopes and dreams for education technology over the coming years. It quickly became clear that the stories of the two companies had remarkable parallels and that their goals were very closely aligned. Throughout the last six months, we’ve been working ever more closely together and today we are delighted to announce that Firefly and Epraise are now part of the same family.
By working together, we believe that our shared desire to improve the education experience for students, teachers and parents can be accelerated. Both teams have invested heavily in research and development over the years and so have some really exciting technology that will compliment each other’s platforms.
Firefly is the trusted platform for parent engagement and learning continuity, providing a unified school experience for parents, teachers and students alike. Firefly’s Parent Portal simplifies engagement across the entire school, bringing everyone together in one secure, joined-up space, whilst it’s Teaching and Learning platform supports learning in the classroom and beyond, giving teachers more time to teach and students more ways to learn. Founded in 2005 by Simon Hay and Joe Mathewson - secondary school students at the time - Firefly has become a household name in education technology in the UK and beyond.
“Firefly Learning is a company we have long admired and with whom we have a lot in common - their story has many parallels to our own and more importantly they share our absolute dedication to improving education for all.”
Ben Dunford, founder and CEO of Epraise
Epraise is the learning engagement platform at the heart of hundreds of school communities around the world. The platform centers around a set of core aims to help schools motivate students, engage parents and save teacher’s time, through a collection of tools that focus on school essentials including achievements, behaviour management, seating plans, classwork, homework, attendance, assessment, activities, communications and more. Epraise was founded in 2010 by Ben Dunford, a secondary school teacher who was frustrated with the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of paper-based reward systems, and like Firefly, has become renowned for both it’s platform and the people supporting it.
“Joining forces with Epraise will allow us to share our knowledge, expertise and developments with each other and, where there is clear benefit for schools, combine our features and services. The past year has underlined how important it is that schools can access technology that is integrated and hassle free and we hope this will simplify things for many of our customers.”
Simon Hay, co-founder and CEO of Firefly
Both platforms will continue to be sold, supported and developed independently as before, but customers will start seeing the benefits of this change very soon indeed, starting with our first joint project that will be in the hands of schools later on this summer.
Both teams are excited to be working together and look forward to working with even more schools, providing them with the comprehensive platform they need to support teaching and learning across the whole school community.
